Founded by Susan E. Jones in 1986, Susan Matlack Jones & Associates is the go-to firm for bookkeeping services for nonprofit organizations. We work with over 100 organizations in Oregon and Washington, providing them financial statements for their use in managing their resources.
Matlack is Susan's maiden name, and she added the title to her company in honor of her father, Jack Matlack, who was prominent in the Portland advertising community for many years, and who, as Executive Director of the Portland Advertising Federation and a founder of the Portland Advertising Museum, got Susan into non-profit bookkeeping.
In 2009, Susan's daughter Erin started working for the firm. In 2013, Erin became Managing Partner and in 2017, Susan retired. Erin brings her background in the arts and literature to the job, with the goal of helping our clients understand financial statements, encouraging those who normally cringe at the sight of too many numbers to be enthusiastic users of their statements.
